Samak ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use the Samak mobile application ("the App"). By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

1.1 Information You Provide
- Registration Data: Full name, phone number, and password.
- Profile Information: Profile picture, governorate, city, professional role, and speciality.
- User Content: Posts, comments, support requests, feedback, and any other content you submit.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, session duration, and interaction logs.
- Location Data: Governorate and city selected during registration (we do not collect real-time GPS data without your explicit consent).
1.3 Verification Information
Aqua Engineers may be required to submit professional credentials or additional verification details for admin review. This information is used solely for account verification purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Verify your professional status (Aqua Engineers).
- Provide and improve the App's features and services.
- Send SMS verification codes for phone number verification and password reset.
- Display your profile and content to other users according to your role and privacy settings.
- Send in-app notifications relevant to your activity.
- Respond to your support requests and feedback.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
- Comply with applicable Egyptian laws and regulations.
3. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- With Other Users: Your public profile (name, role, speciality, governorate, city, and profile picture) is visible to other registered users as part of the platform's core functionality.
- Service Providers: We may share data with trusted third-party providers (e.g., SMS gateway services) who assist us in operating the App, under strict confidentiality agreements.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority in Egypt.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide our services. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., resolving disputes).
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Password Hashing: Passwords are never stored in plain text; we use bcrypt hashing.
- JWT Token Authentication: Secure, expiring tokens are used for session management.
- Encrypted Connections: All data transmission between the App and our servers uses HTTPS encryption.
Despite our measures, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights
As a user of Samak, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
- Objection: Object to certain processing of your data.

8. SMS Verification
We use a third-party SMS service to send phone verification codes. Your phone number is shared with this provider solely for the purpose of delivering these messages. We do not use it for marketing.
9. Third-Party Links and Services
The App may contain links to third-party websites or resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before engaging with them.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notification or by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
11. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
